Background

The Ty William Morgan building is home to over 4,000 staff from various UK Government departments and agencies. The hub facilitates a dynamic, flexible, and inclusive work environment to attract and retain high-calibre staff. With the capacity to host full UK Cabinet meetings, the Ty William Morgan building has created a clear focal point for the UK Government’s presence in Wales’s capital city.

As the first and largest building of the central square development in Cardiff City Centre, it became a catalyst for the new civic spaces which include a rail and bus interchange, BBC Wales headquarters and improvements to the surrounding public spaces.

Our Solution

Working alongside Sir Robert McAlpine and Gensler, Rotec, consulted through all the stages, resulting in procuring the manufacturing process outside of a typical steel door specification. Security fire and safety compliance being uncompromised acting as the safeguard to brief and final certification.

The internal steel door package included 26 fire-rated doors, 5 SR2 steel doors and 8 standard doors throughout.
