Background

The McArthur Glen Outlet, based in Cannock, West Midlands, is home to some of the world’s best-loved designer fashion brands. With views over the nearby Mill Green Nature Reserve, the £160m retail development has created a vibrant community space and approximately 1,000 new job opportunities.

With excellent local transport links and ample on-site parking, the outlet is set to attract thousands of visitors each month, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

Our Solution

Having worked with Bowmer and Kirkland on several projects to date, Rotec were appointed to manage the supply and install of the steel door package. Installation took place during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic which meant having to quickly adapt to new ways of working.

We worked closely with the scheme’s architect Holder Mathias during the early planning phase to establish the exact product requirements. Some of the doors had to meet particularly complex specifications, so a collaborative partnership was essential to ensure we achieved the required level of security on site.

One of the main challenges was having to install 3 doors at the substation to enable power-on close to the project
handover date. We provided our fast-track service to achieve a quick turnaround on delivery and install.

While working under such unprecedented circumstances and continually changing restrictions, maintaining close communication with the architect and main contractor was key to achieving a successful project outcome.
